“New Voices”

In PODCAST: New Voices 2020 preview and Student Press Freedom Day — Jan. 29, 2020, they both talk about how students should be able to express themselves in what they want to talk about or write about. How free speech shouldn’t just be allowed outside of school but inside as well. Many administrators or teachers are image-conscious or imitated to self-censor “controversial” topics that matter to their peers and community.

14 states have passed a legislation called “New Voices” to protect student rights to free speech and prevent against their advisors. This event is free and is in a partnership with the National Archives.
